	<title>Cookies</title>
	<description>
If you are mad about cookies and consider yourself to be a connoisseur, take a look at this tantalizing variation on a classic favorite. It's amazing how a few added ingredients can turn one of grandma's favorite cookies into an entirely new taste sensation. Use this recipe as a guide on how to change some of your other recipe's with the simple addition of an added ingredient.

SANTA'S BUTTERSCOTCH OATMEAL BARS

Here's what you will need for these tantalizing cookies :

1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup butter (softened)
3/4 of a cup of plain white sugar
3/4 of a cup of brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 cups quick cooking oats
2 cups of butterscotch chips

1. Preheat over to 375 degrees.
2. Combine flour, baking soda and cinnamon in a small bowl.
3. In a separate larger bowl, beat butter, white and brown sugar, eggs and vanilla together until they obtain a creamy consistency.
4. Gradually beat in the flour mixture from the small bowl carefully incorporating the dry ingredients. Once you have successfully mixed these items, add the uncooked oats and butterscotch chips.
5. Spread the dough evenly into a greased 15" X 10" baking pan and bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or, let them cool for a tasty snack.

For an added holiday affect, add pre-packaged red and green sprinkles while they are cooling. Doing so will add to the warmth of the holiday season and make your cookies a part of a special gathering.

It's hard to go wrong when making cookies. When you mix butter, sugar and flour, things just seem to turn out good. We recommend taking some of your favorite recipes and "spicing" them up with variations on the recipe. For example, you could use chocolate chips in the above recipe or, how about white chocolate morsels with a topping of english toffee pieces. Sound good, huh?
