Cookie Recipe

When you were growing up, probably one of the first things you ever learned how to bake was cookies. In fact, you might even have a favorite cookie recipe.

What's Your Favorite Cookie Recipe?

Most of us have a favorite cookie recipe. Whether it's one that's been handed down in your family from generation to generation or one you found on your own that you really like, it really doesn't matter. However you found your favorite cookie recipe, treasure it. It will bring years of happiness.

The classic cookie recipes that are traditional favorites are chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies and snickerdoodles. Of course, there are variations on each of these as well. For example, check out this recipe for peanut butter chocolate chip cookies:

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

1/2 cup chunky or smooth peanut butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

1 egg

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 375.

2. Cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars together until light. Add the egg and mix until fluffy.

3. Mix the four, baking powder, baking soda and salt together, then add to the peanut butter mixture.

4. Add the chocolate chips.

5. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Of course, there are also variations on the classic chocolate chip cookie recipe, like monster cookies, which incorporate such ingredients as oats and M&Ms, and the Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookie recipe that includes a grated chocolate bar in the ingredients. But some people prefer to stick to the tried and true classics, like the Toll House Cookie. If they vary it at all, it's by putting milk chocolate chips in instead of semisweet. Why mess with a classic?
